NOBEL LAUREATE GRANTED CHINESE ‘GREEN CARD’
    2018-04-03  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Kurt Wuthrich, a Swiss scientist and Nobel chemistry laureate, displays the permanent Chinese residence card he received from Shanghai Public Security Bureau yesterday. The 79-year-old, who now works at ShanghaiTech University, was one of six expats granted Chinese “green cards” on the day. China began issuing permanent residence permits in 2004, however, the “green card” is among the most difficult in the world to obtain due to stringent requirements.China News Service
