A wet weekend 无聊的人或事
    2018-04-09  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A: How was your blind date?

B: He was about as much fun as a wet weekend in Carmarthenshire. He’s got no personality and nothing to say.

A: So you won’t see him again.

B: Definitely no. What did you do over the weekend?

A: I stayed home doing accounts, so it was a wet weekend for me too.

Note: This idiom, apparently from the United Kingdom where it rains often, refers to a very boring and disappointing experience or person. It’s easily understandable as you can picture being confined to your home on a raining weekend.
