Rescuers work at the accident site after an Algerian military plane crashed early yesterday at the military airport of Boufarik, 30 km south of Algiers, killing at least 257. The plane was carrying more than 250 troops and departing for the southwest province of Bechar, before crashing in an unpopulated green field near the airport.
