Bao’an hosts international talent week
    2018-04-13  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

AS a parallel event of the upcoming 16th Conference on International Exchange of Professionals, Bao’an International Talent Week is being held from April 9 to 15, with the aim of building a global platform for talent exchanges.

Warm-up events for the talent week included several international competitions for the Second China (Shenzhen) Innovation & Entrepreneurship International Competition, which marks the first time that Bao’an has hosted the overseas sessions of the competition.

Specifically, the district took charge of six events, including three regional competitions in Toronto, Berlin and Stockholm, two of which were finals for the advanced manufacturing industry and the Internet industry, and one was a professional Internet of Things (IoT) competition.

A total of 490 entries had been collected for the overseas regional competitions as of Feb. 29, and 229 entries were collected for the professional IoT competition.

The final contest for the IoT competition was held Monday. A total of 15 innovative projects from around the world competed in the final, where they participated in road shows and made oral defenses. The two finals for the advanced manufacturing industry and the Internet industry were held Tuesday.

On Wednesday, there was a matchmaking event for the winners of the regional competitions and Bao’an enterprises, venture capital institutions and high-tech parks.

The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Summit, scheduled for Friday, will focus on the role of Bao’an regarding logistics and the supply chain in the Greater Bay Area. Experts from home and abroad in the logistics and supply chain industry have been invited to share their views and suggestions on the topic.

The highlight of the series of events will be the opening ceremony of Bao’an International Talent Week, which is on Friday.

A number of distinguished guests have been invited to deliver keynote speeches at the ceremony, including Allan Blue, co-founder of employment-oriented service provider LinkedIn, and Richard Gluck, president of Sino-American Logistics Council.

In addition, the opening ceremony will feature the awards ceremony for the prizewinners in the finals of the IoT competition and the two industry competitions, as well as the signing of agreements between talents, projects and institutions.

A daylong talent fair, which will kick off Saturday at Bao’an Talent Park, will include both online and offline recruitment activities, in which hundreds of enterprises will recruit much-needed global talents. (Zhang Yu)
