2nd LU Siqing Intl. String Festival to kick off
    2018-04-20  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE second Lu Siqing Shenzhen Futian International String Festival will be held in Futian District from Sept. 15 to 21, according to the launch ceremony and press conference held March 28 at Shenzhen Concert Hall.

Lu Siqing, a world-famous violinist and winner of top international violin art prizes, is the 10th celebrity on the Futian Distirct list of “100 Cultural and Sports Talent Introduction Plan.” Joining hands with the Futian District Culture and Sports Bureau, Lu will bring local residents an internationally-acclaimed feast of strings.

The seven-day festival will see more than 20 activities including the second “Futian Cup” International String Competition for Young Violinists, concerts, master classes and lectures. Over 10,000 tickets will be given away to local residents.

A total of eight world-class string players and educators, together with Lu, will provide the best music platform for young musicians from China and abroad. Contestants will compete in the ensemble group and amateur group during the second “Futian Cup” International String Competition for Young Violinists. Children in the amateur group who win the outstanding performance awards will have the chance to perform at the closing ceremony of the festival as a member of the Siqing Children String Orchestra.

In order to promote the dispersion of elegant music in people’s daily lives, public exhibitions such as the famous violin exhibition and the handmade violin shop will let citizens better understand the history of violin art. At the same time, small public concerts will be held at landmark buildings in Futian to create a music space for the public. (Nan Nan)
