My U.S. summer camp experience

The time I spent last summer at a camp in the United States was the most interesting and unforgettable experience I have had in my life.

First, I want to introduce you to some of the classes I took at the camp. As young campers we had science class, swimming class, animal class and snack-making class. My favorite classes were animal class and snack-making class. I learned how to take care of animals and also gained lots of knowledge about animals. The cats at the camp were cute and quiet. The dogs were playful and clever. I loved playing with and taking care of them. I miss those wonderful animals! In the snack-making class I learned how to make bread, cake and cookies. They were all very delicious!

Another great part of the summer camp was my roommates. Each cabin had 16 students in it. Many kids were from different countries. Everybody was so friendly and helpful to each other. We played together and read together every day and some of us had classes together as well. Our little camp “family” was full of warmth and happiness.

On the weekends the camp was so exciting because we could go around and see famous places. We went to the city museum and we learned a lot of cool facts about the city. We had a picnic in a beautiful park. We really had a good time there.

This was my first time going abroad so I missed my mother very much. I called my mother once a week and wrote to her through email once a week. I bought a necklace and earrings for my mom from the U.S. and a box of chocolates for my younger brother. When I got home, I gave them the gifts and they were very happy. Seeing them happy made me smile.

I love my summer camp experience and miss my friends very much. I hope to go there again some day!
