THE central axis of Shenzhen, which was proposed by famous Chinese architects Wu Liangyong and Zhou Ganzhi, runs from Longhua District in the north, passes through many of the most noteworthy hallmarks of Shenzhen such as Civic Center, Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center, Deng Xiaoping’s Statue and Futian Railway Station, and ends at the border with Hong Kong in the south. The center of the central axis is at the foot of Lianhua Hill, which is also the center of Futian District. The central axis of Shenzhen reflects the evolution and accumulation of Shenzhen’s urban landscapes and demonstrates the vigor and prosperity of Shenzhen.(Nan Nan) |
