ELECTRIC vehicle maker BYD recently signed an order to deliver 200 electricity-powered short-haul garbage trucks to Corpus Saneamento e Obras Ltda (Corpus) in Brazil. This represents BYD’s largest overseas order for e-trucks. BYD will deliver the first batch of 20 trucks before the end of the year, and the rest before the end of 2023. Corpus is a waste-disposal management company in Brazil. The trucks weigh 21 tons fully loaded and can run more than 100 kilometers on a full charge. They will be used in Indaiatuba City in Sao Paulo State. BYD entered the Brazilian market in 2010 and built a battery factory in Sao Paulo State in 2014. Its e-cars are used by local police.
