Gold ‘Tesla’ iPhone X has its own solar panel
    2018-05-23  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

One of the most expensive iPhones money can buy, created by a Russian firm, is on its way to billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk. The gold plated handset has its own solar panel to keep the battery topped up.

It’s available in two versions, one which has 64GB memory and costs US$4,600. A higher capacity version, which can hold 256GB, costs US$4,830.

The phones are engraved with the phrase “Made on Earth by humans,” a nod to Musk using the phrase on a circuit board aboard the Tesla Roadster he launched into space on the back of his Falcon Heavy rocket.

Caviar, the firm behind its creations, says it has received pre-orders for 999 of the exclusive handsets. Caviar has built a reputation for crating elaborate phone accessories* that cost thousands.

What makes them different is that they’re not removable, with the case built into the handset itself.

The Caviar iPhone X Tesla comes equipped with a solar battery on its rear* panel which uses energy from the sun to charge the phone. Bright lamps will also provide some charge.

The device has a shock-resistant solar panel complete with a battery charge indicator, which are built onto a carbon base.(SD-Agencies)
