CHINA Southern Airlines, as well as its affiliated Chongqing Airlines, Sichuan Airlines and Hebei Airlines, moved all service counters to the newly-opened Terminal 2 at Guangzhou Baiyun Airport on Saturday.

The Guangzhou-based Southern Airlines will handle 90 percent of the flights arriving at and departing from Terminal 2.

Passengers taking the airlines’ flights who depart from the mainland can go to the boarding gate on the same floor if transferring to a domestic flight via Guangzhou, or to customs and border protection if transferring to an international flight. Transferring passengers are not required to go through another security check.

Passengers can use the 120 self check-in kiosks available at each check-in aisle to print boarding passes. If you have baggage to check in, you can go to Aisles H and L and use one of the 52 self-service baggage check-in kiosks.

To check-in at a counter, China Southern Airlines passengers can go to Aisles E, F, and G for domestic flights and Aisle P for international flights.

First class, business class, and Sky Pearl economy class passengers as well as China Southern Airlines gold/silver members or Sky Priority members can go to counters in Aisles C and D for domestic flights and Aisle Q for international flights.

Passengers taking an international flight of China Southern Airlines who are transferring to the company’s domestic flight via Guangzhou can enjoy the through check-in service, which allows them to check in for the departure from both the original airport and the transit airport (Guangzhou) directly at the original airport. When transferring at Baiyun Airport Terminal 2, passengers do not need to collect their baggage or go to a transit counter. Just wait for the background baggage check-in result in the lobby and go through the security check before boarding the subsequent flight. Passengers only need to collect their baggage at the destination airport. This convenient transit service is available for all 53 international air routes from the China Southern Airlines Guangzhou hub.
