BAO’AN District struck agreements on 24 key cultural projects involving a total of 5.9 billion yuan (US$940 million) during the 14th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF). At an agreement-signing ceremony May 10, Bao’an Party chief Yao Ren vowed that the district government will roll out more favorable policies for cultural enterprises and see to it that the contracted projects will be implemented as soon as possible. The projects ranged from science and technology, sports, tourism, traditional Chinese therapy to design and education. During the five-day ICIF, the Bao’an government demonstrated its cultural prowess and vitality in 14 public activities and 24 contract-signing ceremonies held at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center, the main venue of the ICIF, and 11 subvenues across the district. Forty-two Bao’an companies showcased 116 of their latest creative cultural designs and products at a 384-square-meter booth in the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center, exemplifying the district’s standing as a core area of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and a highland of artificial intelligence and innovation. Apart from the booth, Bao’an District had 11 subvenues featuring themes ranging from traditional Chinese culture and jewelry design to film and television technology. The creative cultural industry in Bao’an has witnessed steady progress in recent years, with its added value reaching 21.17 billion yuan last year. The number of Bao’an’s cultural and creative businesses surged from 730 in 2013 to 2,247 in 2017.(SD News) |
