CHINA’S 40 years of reform and opening up proved to be invaluable to the developing countries in Africa, including Gabon.

At an interview yesterday after the opening of the 4th China-Africa Young Leaders Forum, Marius Assoumou Ndong, deputy secretary general of the Gabonese Democratic Party and secretary general of the party’s Youth League, said China’s fast economic growth and sustainable development in the past decades brought hope and experience to Africa.

“China’s 40 years of opening up had made remarkable achievements that attracted the attention of the world. Its experience in developing its economy and openness and inclusiveness of culture are valuable for Gabon, a country rich in natural resources,” said Ndong.

The Gabonese Democratic Party had good exchanges with the Communist Party of China and as secretary general of the Gabonese Democratic Party’s Youth League, Ndong’s duty is to promote values to young people.

“Chinese young people have played an important role in China’s reform and opening up, and this forum provided us a chance to exchange and strengthen cooperation between China and African countries,” said Ndong.
