SERGEY ZHELEZNYAK, deputy secretary of the General Council of the United Russia Party, said all countries in the world should engage in conversation instead of provoking confrontation in order to solve global problems.

Zheleznyak was one of the key speakers at the first Shanghai Cooperation Organization Political Parties Forum held at the Wuzhou Guest House.

“The current cooperation between Russia and China is multidimensional and covers a wide range of areas including politics, economy and culture,” said Zheleznyak. He believed that the cooperation between the two countries should be a model of pragmatic and efficient collaboration for other countries in the 21st century.

Zheleznyak said the United Russia Party and the Communist Party of China have maintained good interaction and conducted extensive exchanges on many important issues over the years. The strategic partnership is of great significance to the peace and stability of Eurasia and the world.

He said that member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and its political parties shoulder significant responsibilities for the sustainable development of the organization.
