BY the end of 2019, more than 30 flower-dotted avenues, 20 flower-themed parks, 222 flower-decorated communities and 444 street gardens will be built in the city, according to a proposal released by the city’s urban administration bureau. The project will be carried out in accordance with scientific planning and basic international principles. The three-year ambition will also provide guidance for upgrading the floriculture industry and mobilizing enterprises and social forces to participate in the construction.

Ecological building

IN the drafting of the overall plan for Shenzhen’s development between 2016 and 2035, ecological building was listed as one of the five aspects that the city tries to realize its transition, together with regional cooperation, innovation, land supply and the protection of cultural relics. Shenzhen will address major environmental issues and solve prominent problems during the process of ecological building, build park clusters that rely on mountains and grasslands, and explore the integration of land and marine resources while protecting the marine environment.
