23 detained

POLICE in Northwest China’s Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region have detained 23 people suspected of making and selling drugs, and seized more than 4.5 tons of drug-making raw materials, local authorities said Saturday.

Police in Wuzhong City in November received reports about a gang installing equipment for producing hydroxylamine, a raw material used in drug making.

A four-month investigation led to a drug production and sales ring operating in six Chinese provinces and regions, according to Wuzhong police.

Medical quality

CHINA has seen improved medical quality and accessibility as a result of collaboration between government, industry and society, officials have said.

“China’s management of medical quality has been gradually standardized and professionalized in recent years,” said Guo Yanhong, an official in charge of medical management with the National Health Commission.

Unified exam

CHINA’S Ministry of Justice on Friday announced the first unified qualification exam for legal professionals.

The exam will consist of two sections of objective questions and one section of subjective questions. The tests will be held Sept. 22 and Oct. 20.

Compared with former national judicial exams, the new exam expands the range of candidates.
