洗牛奶浴真能让皮肤变好

Legend says that Egyptian queen Cleopatra bathed daily in sour donkey’s milk to improve the complexion of her skin and reduce wrinkles.

Dr. Altcheck doesn’t recommend bathing in rotten milk, but says the dairy product does contain protein and skin-nourishing minerals like vitamin E and zinc.

Vitamin E neutralizes the effect of free radicals, which are molecules that cause skin dryness, fine lines and wrinkles. They also damage collagen, or the connective tissues that keep your skin together.

Meanwhile, Vitamin D has been shown to minimize acne, increase skin elasticity, and lessen the appearance of dark spots.

Altcheck also says that the two vitamins have healing properties.

“Vitamin D and vitamin E will also help accelerate the skin’s reparation from UV rays, wind, sun, contaminants and pollution,” he said.

The dermatologist adds that another key ingredient in milk, lactic acid, also has skincare benefits.

Lactic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid, which encourages the skin to shed its old, dead skin cells to reveal the new, healthy skin cells hidden underneath.

In higher concentrations, it also works to reduce pigmentation and brighten the skin.

Altcheck says that it’s better to bath in warm milk because it will penetrate the skin faster than cold milk — but warns against staying in the bath for too long.

“It’s a double-edged sword because on one hand you want to stay in there long enough to absorb the nutrients,” he said. “On the other hand, you will become dehydrated if you stay in too long and the water will literally roll out your skin. I would say anything beyond 15 minutes would be harmful.”

As for the types of milk, Altcheck recommends going with an option that is higher in fat content.

However, the best milk option, according to Altcheck, is buttermilk.

Buttermilk is laden with lactic acid, which helps a number of skin-related issues including sloughing off dead skin cells, lightening age spots and tightening skin.

Once the bath is done, Altcheck recommends rinsing off thoroughly — because milk decomposes quickly, you could end up smelling like rotten milk — and moisturizing your skin.

他说:“洗牛奶浴是一把双刃剑:一方面你想待得够久,让皮肤吸收养分,但另一方面,如果你待得太久,水分会从皮肤流失,导致脱水。我的建议是泡牛奶浴不要超过15分钟。”

至于用哪一种牛奶,艾尔切克医生建议选择脂肪含量更高的牛奶。

不过,据艾尔切克医生透露,牛奶浴的最佳选择是酪乳。

富含乳酸的酪乳有助于解决许多皮肤问题,包括去除死皮、淡化色斑和紧致皮肤。

艾尔切克医生说,一旦沐浴结束,就要把牛奶彻底冲洗干净,因为牛奶很快会变质,如果不洗干净,你会散发出变质牛奶的味道,另外还要给皮肤擦润肤露。
