    2018-06-12  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

biānjù shì guānyǐng

Meaning:

“编剧” means “scriptwriter,” “式” means “style,” and “观影” means “watching a movie or show.” While most of us would try to avoid spoilers before actually watching a movie or show, a small number of fans do not mind spoilers at all. Some even search online for detailed previews and reviews, with spoilers included, before they watch the show. Chinese netizens coined the term “scriptwriter kind of moviegoer (or show watcher)” to describe such a group.

Example:

Xiàzhōu yǒu shénme hǎokàn de diànyǐng tuījiàn?

Is there any good movie I can watch next week?

《Chāorén zǒng dòngyuán èr》ā。

“The Incredibles 2,” of course.

Gùshì jiǎng shénme?

What’s it about?

Nǐ zìjǐ shàngwǎng sōu ba,wǒ bù xǐhuān biānjù shì guānyǐng。

You can google it yourself. I’m not a scriptwriter kind of moviegoer. [I hate spoilers.]
