Wen Yuyu, Class 12, Senior 1, Shenzhen Xin’an Middle School Instructed by Yang Zhengping, Tang Ying 深圳市新安中学(集团) 高一(12)班 温昱宁 指导老师:杨正萍 汤颖 During the winter vacation, I had lots of fun. I went with my mother to Lhasa in Tibet. We first took a train from Shenzhen to Lanzhou which is my mother’s hometown. After a little rest, we got on another train from Lanzhou to Lhasa. There is a song in Chinese called “Take the Train to Lhasa,” which describes the feelings of longing for Lhasa. We were on the train for two days and the scenery was so beautiful that it took our breath away. There were swarms of yellow-brown Tibetan antelopes running on the grassland. There were many wild horses grazing and rolling. There were also small foxes, yaks and wild donkeys. The grass on the grassland was not green due to the season, and the mountains ranging in the distance were covered with snow. There were few clouds in the blue sky, and everything was so beautiful. After arriving in Lhasa, I saw the magnificent Potala Palace. In the square outside Jokhang Temple, we passed by some Tibetan houses and a long wall of prayer wheels. Devout believers kowtowed there day after day, and I was awestruck by their firm belief. On the way back, I saw the stars that had come out, so brilliant in the sky, over the desert. The Milky Way has dense and bright stars. I have not stopped reminiscing about my unforgettable vacation trip to Lhasa. |
