Can you design a piece of furniture using just cardboard and scissors? The clever use of materials and smart techniques can help to reduce both the cost of a product and waste.

Before attending the workshop, children are advised to visit the “Values of Design” exhibition at Design Society|Sea World Culture and Arts Center and then search for clever design inspiration, from a stool cut out of a single sheet of wood to a children’s chair made of cardboard and even a paper dress.

Then choose your favorite object. Look at it really carefully and imagine breaking it down into different parts. Draw out the different pieces, cut them out and put together to make a model of your object.

The workshop is free to attend and no sign-up is necessary. You need to pay for the materials if you wish to bring your design and wooden mannequin home.
