Fake Nike shoes

CUSTOMS in Southwest China’s Yunnan Province have seized more than 400 pairs of fake Nike shoes.

Customs in provincial capital Kunming found the shoes when a Vietnamese was carrying them across the border.

Over 1,000 knockoffs were seized in three such cases, which also include bags, watches, belts, glasses and shoes with fake brands of Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Chanel, Hermes and Prada.

Hekou customs detained the three batches of goods Wednesday.

Drug traffickers seized

POLICE in Southwest China’s Yunnan Province apprehended six suspects for drug trafficking and seized 82 kilograms of drugs.

The police in Jinggu Dai and Yi Autonomous County, Pu’er City, received information in mid-May that drug dealers planned to traffic drugs from overseas into Central China’s Hunan Province via Yunnan.

Police apprehended two suspects in a hotel May 24, and found 16 blocks of heroin and 23 bags of methamphetamine, weighing 36 kg in total from a truck parked at a garage in Lancang Lahu Autonomous County, Jinggu police said.

In the second operation June 16, they found 45.8 kg of methamphetamine in a rented apartment in the same county. Four more suspects were seized.

More orders

TWO more MA60 artificial rain-making aircraft have been ordered by the Chinese Academy of Meteorological Sciences for firefighting and precipitation purposes in China’s arid northwestern regions, according to its manufacturer AVIC XAC Commercial Aircraft Co. Ltd. on Friday.
