Gasoline exports

THE country’s gasoline exports in May surged from a year earlier, as State refiners sought to profit from good export margins and additional quota, customs data showed Saturday.

Gasoline exports in May rose 134 percent from a year earlier to 1.47 million tons, and up from 1.21 million tons in April. Diesel exports in May also rose, up 62.6 percent to 2 million tons from the year earlier period, while kerosene exports were up 43.1 percent to 1.42 million tons.

Bank cards

BANKS in China had issued 7.03 billion bank cards by the end of 2017, meaning each Chinese has about five cards on average, according to a latest industry report.

The total number was up 10.3 percent from a year earlier, said the report released by the China Banking Association. Last year, the number of transactions via bank cards rose 29.4 percent to 149 billion, with a total of 735 trillion yuan (US$113 trillion) swiped from bank cards.

Waste plastic imports

CHINA imported no waste plastic in May while waste paper imports fell 64.8 percent to 860,000 tons, customs data showed Saturday.

The country’s scrap metal imports in May fell 27.7 percent on the year to 520,000 tons.
