It has been about two years since I joined an experimental class on Highly Effective English Learning Strategy Training.

Two years are not a long time, but it’s enough to obtain sufficient English strategies such as listening, speaking, grammar, writing, and especially reading strategies.

My teacher, who is a professional English teacher in our school, specializes in language learning strategies. She invented a series of highly effective strategies, especially reading strategies, which brought us to a new world that reversed the reading methods we commonly use. The most significant thing is that my teacher has spurred on our passion for reading, prompting us to read more and more, from short articles to newspapers to books. As we all know, reading is a significant part of the English exam and a fundamental stone in English learning. Having effective reading strategies definitely paves the way for future challenges.

Besides this, the idea of writing a report after each lesson has also enlightened me a lot. This kind of report helps us to review our classes and recall the knowledge we have learnt, and prevents us from forgetting the main points of our classes. Absolutely, this method has taught us not only how to write a lesson report, but also how to write a long passage, which has strengthened our writing abilities. Moreover, we often revise each other’s lesson reports, checking and revising their grammar, spelling and the language mistakes. I want to give thanks for this experience because it not only gradually lit my fire for writing, but also improved my writing skills greatly.

In conclusion, these two years have taught me so much that they seem like they are uncountable stars in the sky that have led me to go so far. Quite often, I can’t help but recall my days in classes which were full of laughter and good memories among our classmates and the teacher.
