HK CE CHATS WITH AI ROBOT, SOPHIA
    2018-06-28  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor (2nd R) talks with Sophia (2nd L and shown in the big screen), a well-known humanlike AI robot, at the AmCham Smart City Summit 2018 held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center yesterday. Developed by Hong Kong-based company Hanson Robotics, Sophia was activated April 19, 2015 and was the world’s first robot to be granted citizenship from Saudi Arabia last year. She is able to display more than 50 facial expressions. Her answers come from a Wi-Fi connected brain equipped with a lengthy lexicon. A machine learning program shifts through the words to aggregate general responses to questions.China News Service
