Nanshan Museum

Ancient coins and ceramics seized by Shenzhen Customs are on display until July 8. Meanwhile, ancient bronze mirrors, Buddha sculptures and ceramics collected by locals and private museums are also on display until July 29. Two more exhibitions of ancient stone sculptures, foreign coins and ancient weapons are being held until next year.

Illustrations

Illustrations created by Tatsuhide Matsuoka are on display. Matsuoka developed a strong interest in nature in his childhood. He won a Japan Picture Book Award in 1981, the Japan Science Book Award in 1993 and the Shogakukan Children’s Publication Culture Award in 2009.

Dates: Until July 10

‘Light & Water’

“Light & Water” is a photography exhibition organized by FOTOLAB and curated by Catarina Braga. The exhibition exclusively shows film photography work from six photographers who are based in Shenzhen. Some of the photographers use only film in their work, while others use it as part of their photographic practice.

Dates: Until July 7

Concerts

Violinist Vadim Repin will play a recital of classical music July 4, while the 12 Cellists of the Berlin Philharmonic, an ensemble featuring the cellists of the Berlin Philharmonic, will perform classical and modern pieces July 5.
