Nature reserve alliance

FUTIAN District set up its Nature Reserve Ecological Protection Alliance on Friday to jointly protect natural resources.

Members of the alliance include government agencies, such as procuratorate, public security, environmental protection and urban administration, as well as social organizations, such as Shenzhen Bird Watching Society and Mangrove Foundation. The alliance will take multiple measures to form a mechanism to tackle illegal fishing, environmental pollution, resource damage and illegal occupation issues.

Apology for blackout

SHENZHEN Metro Co. apologized for the operation error at the construction site of Gangxia North Metro Station that led to a blackout affecting more than 5,000 residents in Futian District.

The apology was made after the company received online criticism by Futian Power Supply Bureau for the unruly construction that broke seven electricity cables between Thursday and Saturday.

Wage defaulter

A MAN surnamed Wang, the owner of a housing agency, was ordered by Longgang District People’s Court to pay 100,000 yuan (US$15,102) in back wages in two separate cases.

Wang’s housing agency was small, but he owed his employees 100,000 yuan in back wages and commissions. Wang’s business outlets had been closed, and he had no executable assets under his name.

On the night of July 4, law enforcement officers with the court received a lead that Wang may appear at his home in Pinghu. The officers arrived at Wang’s home and ordered him to raise funds to pay the back wages.

Garbage fine

BANTIAN Subdistrict law enforcement unit in Longgang District recently fined a woman 200 yuan for littering in a housing estate in Xiang-jiaotang Community.

The woman was also ordered to remove the garbage.
