Drake headlines as DJ Khaled pulls out over ‘travel issues’
    2018-07-11  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

CANADIAN superstar Drake played a surprise half-hour set at Wireless Festival in London’s Finsbury Park on Sunday night.

The unscheduled appearance came after it was announced that DJ Khaled had pulled out of his headline set.

The rapper entered at the end of grime artist Giggs’ slot with the artists playing their collaboration KMT.

Drake played tracks from his new album “Scorpion,” which went to number one on Friday.

Performances of the singles “God’s Plan” and “Nice For What?” prompted huge cheers from the crowd, who were less familiar with the more recent tracks.

But some fans were not satisfied, said BBC Entertainment reporter Annabel Rackham, as Drake only played five songs in full, interspersed with snippets of other tracks, including “Mob Ties” and “Nonstop.”

DJ Khaled had been advertised to play a more extensive set — although the BBC understands Drake’s surprise appearance had been planned before his sometime collaborator pulled out.

DJ Khaled should have been headlining the third day of the festival but cancelled hours before he was due on stage.

Fans had been asking questions after seeing a video of him in an Instagram post just hours before in an infinity pool on holiday in Mexico.

DJ Khaled, who collaborated with Rihanna on “Wild Thoughts,” had been due to close the festival but posted pictures of himself nowhere near London.
