A TEENAGE girl known as Xiaoxuan, 17, living in Luohu District, who was abducted by a strange man July 5, has been rescued by the police, SZTV reported Thursday. According to the girl’s father, surnamed Cai, she went missing after leaving the Longweifang housing estate at around 7 a.m. July 5. Cai checked some surveillance videos later and found that his daughter had been walking with a stranger on Dongjiao Street in Luohu District. Cai suspected that his daughter had been abducted by that man, as Xiaoxuan left home without taking any personal belongings, like a mobile phone or money, so he called Cuizhu Police Station for help. While the father was anxious about his missing daughter, he received a call from the strange man who claimed that he would like to marry Xiaoxuan. Using the phone call, the police managed to trace the location of the man and Xiaoxuan and drove to the place in Meizhou in northern Guangdong to rescue the girl. According to Xiaoxuan, she did not know the man. On July 5, the man offered help and gave her some tissues after the girl accidentally fell. The man later invited Xiaoxuan to his home. Cai said that he has four children and had raised them alone after getting divorced. His kids are living in a small apartment in poor conditions. Xiaoxuan is an introverted 17-year-old girl who quit studying before graduating from primary school and usually helps with the housework. Cai expressed his gratitude to the police and said that he would be more careful to look after his children. According to the police, the suspect has been detained for abducting the teenage girl and the case is still under investigation. (Cui Chenxin) |
