Tech projects to be presented
    2018-07-16  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

China Hardware Innovation Camp (CHIC) is an academic industry cooperation program curated by EPFL (Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne). It offers a unique opportunity for students to experience all the steps of product innovation from idea to prototype on a team and in a cross-culture environment to solve real-world challenges.

CHIC offers a great learning opportunity for students keen to push the boundaries of their disciplines. CHIC features Sino-Swiss cooperation in many perspectives. It triggers more institutes in countries including China, Singapore, the United States and Canada to think about possible ways of creating similar programs for academic industry cooperation.

This year, CHIC 2018 program will have 28 students from eight institutes in Switzerland to work on five different projects in China for two weeks. And on Wednesday, the teams will present their projects and prototypes, such as Chose Order Retrieve and Eat (an ecological food ordering system designed to reduce food and packaging waste in the take-away industry), Flowlin (a connected device that helps you stay focused at work by preventing interruptions from coworkers and apps), Seeki (a wearable device designed for adults to supervisor children) and Toygether (a plush toy for kids that connects to their parent’s smartphone).
