Carl Barat to debut in SZ

British musician Carl Barat, best known for being co-frontman with Peter Doherty in the garage rock band The Libertines, will debut in Shenzhen for a show this Sunday.

In 1996, Barat was studying drama at Brunel University. He soon developed an intense friendship with Doherty based on a shared interest in music and songwriting. After both dropped out of school, they formed The Libertines.

In 2014, Barat announced his new band Jackals and its first live concert was held in May 2014 in London’s XOYO. In 2015, Barat’s previously recorded solo album was released through Cooking Vinyl under the title “Let It Reign.” It has a score of 67 on review aggregator Metacritic, indicating “generally favorable reviews.”
