The city’s admission and examination office announced on Monday it has completed enrollment procedures for the students who earned top scores on the high school entrance exam that took place in June and has released admission scores for the top four high schools in Shenzhen.

The admission scores for Shenzhen Middle School, Shenzhen Experiment School, Shenzhen Foreign Languages School and Shenzhen Senior High School are 435, 432, 430 and 427, respectively.

According to the office, the admission score for each school is based on the school’s enrollment plan, number of applicants, students’ grades and other relevant factors.

Students who are now enrolled to study at a first-tier high school must have achieved average grades of B or higher for their overall performance during their junior high schools.

For students whose scores are tied, the top-tier high schools shall select the student with higher grades in biology and geography, better general performance at school and their cumulative scores in Chinese, math and English.

The enrollment process for first-tier schools started on Monday and ended on Tuesday, while the second phase of enrollment will be underway today and tomorrow. The third phase of enrollment, which assigns students to vocational schools, will begin on July 20 and last for 10 days.

Students can look up their results in the enrollment process at www.51a.gov.cn the second day after each enrollment phase starts. Offers will be sent to students within a week after the enrollment process is complete.

Students who are enrolled at schools they have applied for cannot request to be transferred to another school, and students will be disqualified from attending a high school they were admitted to if they fail to register by the deadline when the school year commences.
