An arduous mission
    2018-07-18  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

After reading the passage “A Boy’s Best Friend Has a Secret Past,” I’d like to share some of my feelings.

The story is about a dog. The writer found a dog named Ike in Thief River Falls. Ike started to go hunting with the writer. Trotting back with the writer every day, the writer thought Ike would always be in his life. However, to his disappointment, the dog went missing and the writer has never saw it again since then. Many years later, the writer found out a dog named Ike saved a disable person’s life. He came to know why Ike was missing years ago: It had a more important mission that moment — taking care of his sick owner.

I was really shocked by the ending. How loyal the dog was! Ike was once everything to the writer. After losing Ike, the writer mourned and really missed it. But when he heard about the fact, he was relieved and said Ike was his best friend. I think at that moment he must feel proud but not regretful.

It’s said that dogs are our best friends. As far as I am concerned, this old saying really makes sense. Maybe Ike’s appearance comforted the writer, but after being told the truth, he no longer mourned and felt gratified. Although Ike has died, his soul was immortal in the hearts of its two owners. In my opinion, no matter who a dog follows, it can always achieve its self-value.
