Suit brand

MEN’S suit brand DIKING has seen sales increase by more than 30 percent year on year in June after sponsoring FIFA World Cup games in Russia.

The US$20 million sponsorship is the most the company has ever spent, but Lv Qi, CEO of DIKING, believes it is a worthwhile and profitable deal for the development of the company in the long run.

IQiyi deal

IQIYI Inc., often likened to U.S. streaming giant Netflix, has snapped up domestic game maker Skymoons in a deal that could be worth nearly 2 billion yuan (US$298.59 million) as it looks to broaden its offerings.

The online video platform, majority-owned by Internet search firm Baidu, said late Tuesday the deal involved a fixed payment of 1.27 billion yuan and an additional fee of 730 million yuan if Skymoons hits certain benchmarks over the next two years.

Pollution curbs

TANGSHAN, China’s top steelmaking city, has extended recent emergency pollution control measures until Saturday because of a smog alert.

The measures, which include the closure of some sintering plants and output curbs on coke and cement factories, came into force Friday and were due to last until noon yesterday.
