THE construction of a charging station for electric vehicles was recently completed and handed over to Bao’an District’s public property management bureau as the district’s first community charging station. The charging station, located at a shopping mall in Songgang Subdistrict, is expected to be put into use by the end of the year, providing 18 charging poles for electric vehicles. It will only take around 30 minutes for an electric vehicle to reach a 90 percent charge. As a public facility included in the district’s urban renovation project, a total of nine community charging stations will be built and put into use within three years, according to the report. The stations will provide at least 96 charging poles for residents. (Cindy Zhang) |
