3 fall sick after eating steaks
    2018-07-23  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

AFTER consuming chicken steaks at a convenience store in Dayun Software Town in Longgang District, two underage girls and one male became ill and were sent to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment, SZTV reported.

The three patients started vomiting and suffering from diarrhea before falling unconscious after eating steaks at the store. One of the minors’ lives was at risk because she ate a larger amount of the food. The hospital had even issued a critically ill notice to her family.

The father of the minor later said that his daughter’s life was no longer at risk after emergency treatment, and she has been released from the hospital.

A reporter for the TV program arrived at the store Tuesday, only to find the door was closed with a seal that showed it had been shut down by the district’s food supervision bureau. However, the phone number left on the exterior of the store was unreachable.

A staffer from the district’s food authority, Li Xifeng, said they had already checked on the convenience store and its suppliers.

The results showed that the store had been licensed legally and had official approvals, but food samples collected from the store would require further examination. (Zhang Qian)
