Rainy weather

MODERATE to strong rainfall is forecast for the city from today to Wednesday due to a tropical depression, said the city’s meteorological observatory.

The rainy weather may be accompanied by severe convective weather. Thunderstorms and strong winds are also expected, and rainfall will weaken Wednesday.

Passenger volume

TOTAL passenger volume on Shenzhen’s Metro network exceeded 6 million for the first time Friday, reaching a record high of 6.16 million passengers.

The passenger volume on the seven lines operating under Shenzhen Metro Group also reached a record high of 5.416 million. In particular, passenger volume on lines 1 and 5 reached 1.42 million and 1.001 million, respectively.

Doctors suspended

TWO doctors from the anesthesiology department of Longhua People’s Hospital have been suspended for illegally taking kickbacks from pharmaceutical suppliers, according to a notice released by the district’s publicity department Friday.

An investigation was launched Tuesday. The two doctors surnamed Wei and Wu were suspended from their posts. A joint investigation team has been set up by the district’s discipline inspection commission and the city’s health commission.
