Han Ximin ximhan@126.com THE indoor parking fee at Shenzhen International Airport will be raised Aug. 1 to 56 yuan (US$8.28) a day, six yuan higher than the present 50-yuan ceiling. According to the fare adjustment plan approved by the city’s development and reform commission, the fee for indoor parking lots, P1 and P2, will be calculated by the hour. The maximum fee for the first day will be 56 yuan. For the next and following days, the fee will be calculated at three yuan per hour. For cars parked outdoors at P3, the maximum fee for the first day will be 50 yuan. The maximum fee for the second day will be 60 yuan. For the third and following days, the fee will be three yuan per hour. At present, the maximum parking fee for all of the parking spaces, 4,500 in total, is 50 yuan per day. According to the airport’s road traffic center, around 26,000 vehicles enter and exit the airport a day. Among them, 10 percent stay overnight. The airport hopes the increase in the parking fee will help reduce the number of vehicles parked there overnight. |
