New leukemia drug

RESEARCHERS are submitting a new leukemia drug for clinical trials, according to the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

The new drug HYML-122 was approved by China National Drug Administration for clinical trials in June. Researchers based in Anhui Province spent four years developing the new drug, said a source of the academy.

False advertising

CHINA cracked down on 8,104 illegal and false online advertisements in the first half of 2018, up 64.2 percent year-on-year, according to the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR).

Fines totaling 116.7 million yuan (US$17.42 million) were imposed during the period, up 17 percent year-on-year, official data showed.

On Friday, the administration issued 30 typical cases of illegal and false online advertisements covering various sectors, including healthcare, real estate, food, and education.

Exits, entries

CHINA saw over 310 million exits and entries across the border in the first half of 2018, a 7.7-percent increase year on year, according to the Bureau of Exit and Entry Administration under the Ministry of Public Security.

Air pollution control

AN action plan on air pollution prevention and control has generated great health benefits, according to recent research.

China issued the Air Pollution Prevention and Control Action Plan in 2013 and accomplished all the major tasks set out in the action plan last year.

Researchers from Peking University’s School of Public Health analyzed national air quality monitoring and mortality data to estimate the health impact of air pollution control in 74 Chinese cities from 2013 to 2017.
