Munich orchestra to grace town

Munich Youth Symphony Orchestra will present Brahms’ “Academic Festival Overture,” Mozart’s “Symphony No. 35” and Tchaikovsky’s “Symphony No. 5” at Shenzhen Grand Theater in September. Julio Doggenweiler Fernandez will wield the baton.

Fernandez has carried out a vast career as an orchestra conductor, particularly in Munich, where he resides permanently since 1990, as well as in Chile, his homeland.

In the past few years, he has been working as a guest conductor with several symphony orchestras in Germany, Chile and Argentina. Since 2010, he has periodically conducted the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra. He has also been a guest conductor in the renowned Richard Strauss Festival in the city of Garmisch-Patenkirchen, Germany.

In Chile, he has worked with main orchestras, such as Chile Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonic Orchestra of the Santiago Municipal Theater and Chilean Chamber Orchestra.
