Han Ximin ximhan@126.com A FEMALE arsonist was caught Thursday rushing into a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) service station and igniting an LPG cylinder, resulting in two people injured including herself. At around 10 a.m. Tuesday, the woman, Li, 46, a native of Jiangxi, arrived at the station on the first floor of a residential building in the Langweicun housing estate in Pingshan District. She opened the valve of an LPG bottle and lit it, causing an explosion that also injured the shop’s owner surnamed Zheng. The two were rushed to a Longgang hospital for treatment. Video showed the fire burned the nearby breakfast shop and also spread upstairs to where families lived. A car parked at the shop’s entrance was also damaged. The woman’s motive is unknown, and the cause is still under investigation. |
