LNG station to become operational
    2018-07-27  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE CNOOC Shenzhen Receiving Station will receive its first load of liquefied natural gas (LNG) Aug. 1, marking the official operation of the key energy project.

Covering 27 hectares in Guanhu, Dapeng New Area, the receiving station includes storage tanks, a berth for LNG ships, and affiliated pipe facilities. The receiving station can handle 4 million tons of LNG a year, providing cleaner energy to Shenzhen, neighboring cities and northern cities in China.

Operating at full capacity for a year, the station’s supply could replace 4.9 million tons of heavy oil, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 2.92 million tons, according to a Shenzhen Special Zone Daily report.
