According to Lin, the school will officially open on September 10. Forest schools are base on an outdoor educational model in which children (or adults) visit natural spaces to learn interpersonal, social and technical skills. It has been defined as an inspirational process that offers children, young people and adults regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence through hands-on learning in a woodland environment. “We want to set up a kindergarten where children can run freely and our innocent childhood memories can be woken up. The forest school conforms to children’s natural instinct to explore the world. We hope our children can become global citizens who are physically and mentally strong and can do good for society,” said Lin. Located in Yangtai Mountain Park near Shenzhen University Town, the school covers an area of over 50,000 square meters and a construction area of 20,000 square meters. PWF has created a distinctive pedagogy based on British EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) and the forest school educational system certified by the FSA (Forest Schools Association). |
