Kaisa Culture and Sports Group, the local organizer of the Shenzhen match of Trophee des Champions (Champions’ Trophy), has confirmed on its offical WeChat account that the much-anticipated Kylian Mbappe will not come to play at the match between Paris Saint-Germain and AS Monaco.

On Wednesday and Thursday, most players for the match arrived in town, including Neymar da Silva Santos Jr., Julian Draxler, Thiago Silva, Gianluigi Buffon and Angel Di Maria of Paris Saint-Germain.

The AS Monaco team also announced its lineup on its official Chinese Weibo: Diego Benaglio, Alvaro Fernandez Llorente, Seydou Sy, Antonio Barreca, Kamil Glik, Jemerson de Jesus Nascimento, Ronael Pierre-Gabriel, Andrea Raggi, Julien Serrano, Jean-Eudes Aholou, Samuel Grandsir, Jordi Mboula, Robert Navarro, Kevin N’Doram, Pele, Rony Lopes, Sofiane Diop, Youri Tielemans, Stevan Jovetic, Keita Balde, Moussa Sylla, Willem Geubbels and Radamel Falcao.

Trophee des Champions is a French association soccer trophy contested in an annual match between the Ligue 1 champions and the winners of the Coupe de France. Since 2009, Trophee des Champions has been played outside France and it has since been held in Tunisia, Morocco, the United States and Gabon.

Paris Saint-Germain is a professional soccer club based in Paris. Founded in 1970, the team established itself as a major force in France and one of the major forces of European soccer in recent years. The club further built upon this success by signing world-record transfer Neymar and prodigy Mbappe in 2017.

Monaco is one of the most successful clubs in French soccer, having won eight league titles and five Coupe de France trophies. The club has also competed in European matches, having been runners-up in the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup in 1992 and the UEFA Champions League in 2004.
