5 detained

FIVE people were detained during a recent police raid at an office building in Longhua District for allegedly illegally obtaining residents’ personal information and making harassing phone calls and text messages. About 190,000 pieces of personal information were seized during the raid.

The police investigation continues.

Parking fees

MOTORISTS will now have to pay more if they park their vehicles at the parking lots at the Shenzhen airport, since fees were raised Wednesday to discourage overnight parking.

Drivers of small vehicles, for example, will now be charged up to 56 yuan (US$8.20) for the first day and 3 yuan per hour from the second day on if they park their cars in the indoor parking area, according to the airport authority.
