SHENZHEN Airlines will open three international routes to Southeast Asian countries by the end of September.


The air routes are flights from Shenzhen to Jakarta and Hanoi, and from Guangzhou to Hanoi, sources of the airline company said.


Flight ZH9047 to Jakarta will operate daily between Sept. 27 and Oct. 27. It leaves Shenzhen at 11 p.m. and arrives in Jakarta at 2:20 a.m. The return flight, ZH9408, leaves the Indonesian capital at 3:20 a.m. and arrives in Shenzhen at 8:40 a.m.


Flight ZH9089 between Guangzhou and Hanoi, Vietnam, will operate daily between Sept. 30 and Oct. 27. The flight leaves from Guangzhou at 12:50 a.m. and arrives in Hanoi at 2 a.m. The return flight ZH9090 leaves the Vietnamese city at 3:30 a.m. and arrives in Guangzhou at 6:05 a.m.


Flight ZH9087 between Shenzhen and Hanoi will operate daily between Sept. 30 and Oct. 27. The flight leaves Shenzhen at 12:50 a.m. and arrives in Hanoi at 2:20 a.m. The return flight ZH9088 leaves Hanoi at 4:20 a.m. and arrives in Shenzhen at 6:50 a.m. Travelers to Jakarta who purchase tickets seven days in advance for flights between Sept. 27 and 28 and between Oct. 3 and 15 will enjoy a 300-yuan (US$44) discount for a round trip.


Passengers to Hanoi will enjoy a 100-yuan discount for a round trip if they purchase tickets seven days in advance for flights between Oct. 3 and 28.


In the first half of the year, the Shenzhen airport opened seven international routes, including five intercontinental routes to Brussels, Madrid, St. Petersburg, Vancouver and Darwin, Australia, bringing the total number of international routes from Shenzhen to 44.


The airport handled 24 million passengers between January and June, an increase of 10.6 percent over the same period last year. The number of international passengers increased by 34.7 percent to 1.87 million in the first six months of the year.


In the second half of the year, the airport will launch three new routes to Zurich, Vienna and London.
