China’s first blockchain invoice issued
    2018-08-13  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

SHENZHEN has become the first city in China to pilot the issuance of blockchain invoices, as the country’s first blockchain-based invoice was issued to a local restaurant Friday, the Shenzhen Economic Daily reported Saturday.

The invoice, which adopts the core technology of blockchain, is able to ensure the secure sharing and storage of transaction records among all parties in the invoicing process, making it impossible to tamper with invoice information.

According to the tax bureau in Shenzhen, companies can submit applications for invoices and declare tax on the blockchain platform supported by Tencent, which will automatically generate invoices after transactions are completed.

In the pilot application of the blockchain invoices, the tax bureau in Shenzhen, together with Tencent and Kingdee, has created a full-process application scenario for blockchain invoices, from WeChat payment and invoice issuance to reimbursement.

Dai Jianghua, manager of the restaurant that issued the invoice, said that using blockchain invoices enables enterprises to effectively save on daily operation costs.

“Consumers can apply for invoices after they pay their bills. We don’t have to enter information manually, nor do we need additional hardware to support the operation. It’s very convenient,” said Dai.

Chen Lili, the receiver of the blockchain invoice, said that the greatest convenience of such an invoice is that it can improve the efficiency of invoice reimbursement.

It is said that the electronic invoice is directly generated on the blockchain and is bound by intelligent contracts. That is to say, each invoice will be verified by the city’s tax authority, Tencent and enterprises, to ensure that they conform to the tax control rules relevant to the enterprises.
