Police aides A TOTAL of 678 police aides were sworn in at a ceremony Friday after completing their three-month training. They are the first batch of police aides since the city’s legislature approved the recruitment of police aides for the city’s police force a year ago. At an average age of 28, they all have bachelor’s degrees or higher. They were selected from 9,000 applicants from across the country. The city plans to recruit 32,000 within seven years. Fund subsidies SHENZHEN University has received 112.5 million yuan (US$16.42 million) in subsidies for 289 projects from the China National Natural Science Foundation this year. The projects include three State-level research projects and 97 general projects. Official probed LIU KUN, deputy director with Shenzhen Municipal Health and Family Planning Commission, is under investigation for disciplinary violations, according to the city’s Party disciplinary inspection commission Friday. Liu, born in 1968, started his tenure as deputy chief of the commission in January 2016 and was responsible for the public health department, emergency center, chronic disease treatment center and occupational disease hospitals. |
