10 selected in Bangladesh for Huawei program
    2018-08-21  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

SHENZHEN-BASED telecommunications giant Huawei has selected 10 youngsters from five renowned Bangladeshi universities for its global flagship CSR or corporate social responsibility program, “Seeds for the future.”

The selected students are from Dhaka University, Islamic University of Technology, Khulna University of Engineering & Technology, Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology and Chittagong University of Engineering & Technology.

Senior faculty in their respective departments and an expert team from Huawei acted as the jury board in each of the selection rounds.

According to a company statement, these top talents will be brought to China for two weeks of exclusive, career-oriented Information and Communications Technology (ICT) training and a cultural expedition on the second week of September.

Starting in 2008, “Seeds for the Future” has been implemented in 96 countries, regions and international organizations worldwide, benefiting over 30,000 students from 280 universities; among them, more than 2,700 university students have taken a study trip to the Huawei headquarters in Shenzhen.

Jerry Wang, chief technical officer of Huawei Technologies (Bangladesh) Ltd., said, “The selected students (seeds) will be brought to China to develop their ICT skills, gain practical international work experience, and receive an introduction to the Chinese language and culture, which will prepare them for the increasingly interconnected global job market,” he added.

“I believe these students will grow and contribute to the making of Digital Bangladesh.”
