DUE to the balanced air pressure and weak winds, which are unfavorable to dispersing pollutants in the air, the city will experience periods of light mist or smog today.

Shenzhen Meteorological Observatory raised a yellow alert for haze in some areas of the city yesterday. The weather will be overcast with occasional showers, and the humidity could reach 85 percent, according to a release by Shenzhen Meteorological Observatory.

During the misty periods, visibility will be lowered to 2-5 kilometers, the observatory said, reminding drivers to be more careful.

Children, elderly people and patients with respiratory diseases are advised to stay indoors and avoid excessive exercise.
