Tomb raiders nabbed

POLICE in Southwest China’s Tibet Autonomous Region said yesterday that they had apprehended 16 criminal suspects of a tomb-raiding ring and retrieved 53 cultural relics.

The ring raided the ruins of a temple in Paggarxoi Village of Dagze District, the regional capital Lhasa, between June and July this year. Some of the suspects were captured at the site and others caught later.

Drugs seized

POLICE in Southwest China’s Yunnan Province cracked four drug cases in three days earlier this month, the local public security department said yesterday.

A total of 112.23 kg of drugs were seized and five suspects were caught, the police said.
