爱莉安娜·格兰德在MTV音乐电视大奖颁奖礼上演唱《God Is a Woman》 Ariana Grande performed her latest single “God Is a Woman” at the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards. The song comes from the singer’s recently released album “Sweetener.” It was previously reported that Grande would be joined by a group of 50 diverse* female backup dancers during the performance. Similar to the song’s music video, the live performance gave a female-driven perspective* to a traditional Christian story. The “God Is a Woman” music video recreated images including Michelangelo’s Creation of Adam with a feminist twist. Meanwhile the VMAs performance opened with Grande and the background dancers sitting at a long table, retelling The Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci. The diverse group of backup performers joined the vocalist in both dancing and singing. The performance concluded with the women uniting onstage while all standing tall with strong postures*. Grande was joined in the front of the stage by grandmother, mother and aunt, who all held hands. Grande was nominated for five awards at the show. She took home the award for best pop music video for the lead single from Sweetener “No Tears Left to Cry.” The 2018 Video Music Awards aired live on Monday from Radio City Music Hall in New York City.
